Phuket Island Thailand-Phang-gna Bay

Phang-gna Bay photos and activities

As you are probably well aware, Phang-gna Bay was home to the filming of the James Bond classic "The man with the golden gun". During the past few years, it has become one of Phuket's most famous attractions thanks to the plethora of sea kayaking operators who take you into the various "hongs" or caves, that just 10 years ago, were virtually undiscovered (except to the locals who have known about them for centuries).

Phang-gna Bay Facts

There are a total of 10 Hongs in Phang-gna Bay.  These hongs once formed a great  undersea reef (larger than the modern day great barrier reef in Australia) which rose up about 200 million years ago with the shifting of the tectonic plates.  You will see similar limestone formations in Halong Bay Vietnam, Palawan Philippines, and in China.  (Previous information supplied by Santana Diving and Canoeing)

There are more than 20 different operators and tours to choose from for these excursions, so you're bound to find the one that is right for you.  The trips generally include pick-up and return to your hotel, lunch, and of course, plenty of photo taking opportunities. This is a must tour for everyone who wants to view the grandeur of these magnificent limestone island formations.

We encourage and promote everyone to keep Phang-gna Bay pristine and clean.
